Be at Peace (new 2025 poem)

Be at Peace

All is well.

Settle,

Soften,

Sink your shoulders,

Breathe in peace.

Allow the safety and stillness of this moment to embrace you,

Be involved in the timelessness of observing without judgement:  thoughts.

Do you breathe like you are at peace, or war?

How can you breathe out any war inside you?

How can you let go of stress and struggle?

Even if just for these moments now…

Take in a deep breath,

Let the moment fill you.

How much more powerful are you when you are at peace?

How much more reasonable? Understanding? Compassionate? Patient with others?

Breathe out all you need to release.

Empty.

Pour out your hardship and pain as you exhale.

Dissolve your troubles into the arms of tender, loving self-care.

Let each new breath restore you, refill you, and refresh you.

This is an important time of shifting into peace.

Without this stopping, pausing and letting go, we woefully accumulate.

Clear the cluttered thoughts of the chatty mind,

Clean your body, mind, and spirit with a shower of presence

Dry off with the towel of serenity

Step out of the tub of meditation

Slide on your slippers mindfulness, step carefully

Dress comfortably.

Be at peace.

Or take another shower of breath.

Suggested Self-Reflection Work:

In a weary, war-torn world, where might you find moments of peace to savor, cherish?

How might you hold onto your peace from meditation?

Are you a peace filled person?

Where do you find places of peace?

What activities bring you peace?

Focus on the solutions.
